Oleksiy Zozulya spoke at RAU Expo 2025 about the situation with the shadow electronics market in Ukraine

On June 11, in a discussion within the framework of RAU Expo 2025, CEO of the Foxtrot network Oleksiy Zozulya drew attention to an extremely acute problem: the share of "gray" imports of electronics in Ukraine has doubled compared to the pre-war period and now amounts to a staggering 25-30% in hryvnia equivalent

"This large-scale threat, which has disastrous consequences for the economy and the country as a whole, was thoroughly discussed during the session.

Foxtrot has long advocated the fiscalization of the electronics market, but hopes for the "whitening" of the market have not come true. Since 2023, after a temporary moratorium and the abolition of import taxes, "gray" players have adapted their schemes, using offshores to minimize taxes. This creates unequal conditions for transparent business and leads to colossal losses for the state budget, especially in the premium technology market, such as Apple. These state losses are estimated at billions of hryvnias and could be directed to the critically important defense needs of the country.

"The fight against the gray is, first of all, a fight for the existence of the state as such. And the government must lead this fight", – emphasized Oleksiy Zozulya.

Business is ready to offer effective ways to solve the problem, the main of which is the mandatory issuance of fiscal checks and tight state control.
