Public Movement "Youth for Consumer Rights" - provided monitoring of the quality of informing consumers of 50 online stores in Ukraine regarding their compliance with the requirements of legislation in the field of consumer rights protection in Ukraine
On March 15, the World Consumer Rights Day in UNIAN hosted a round table on "How to protect the rights of consumers in the era of e-commerce?". The All-Ukrainian Federation PULSE invited interested specialists to take part in the round table discussion to discuss pressing and problematic issues in the field of consumer protection in e-commerce.
Representatives of the government, civil society, educational institutions, retail chains took part in the event.
Liliya Stirenko, acting deputy head of the State Consumer Protection Service of Ukraine, confirmed that the segment of non-food products enjoyed special popularity among offenders: "The number of complaints received in 2016 regarding the activity of online stores is 468, of which 463 are related to the sale of non-food products, 2 - food products, 3 - provision of services".
- On the one hand, the advantages of e-commerce are convenience for the consumer, an increase in opportunities for choice. On the other, we are very concerned, because this industry creates significant barriers to consumers in the exercise of their rights, and significant opportunities for unfair trade practices and outright scammers. That is why it is so important to ensure that the consumer has full and reliable information about the seller and the availability of supporting documents on the purchase of goods, "said Andrei Liga, member of the board of the All-Ukrainian Consumer Federation PULSE.
The topic of consumer online information was devoted to the study, which was presented during the round table by activists of the public movement "Youth for the Rights of Consumers". They presented monitoring of the quality of informing consumers of 50 online stores in Ukraine, selected by popularity in the Google search service, and analysis of these sites for compliance with the requirements of the legislation in the field of consumer protection of Ukraine.
Marina Bondarchuk and Olga Freyuk, activists of the public movement "Youth for the Rights of Consumers" of the All-Ukrainian Federation "PULSE" noted that 58% of the analyzed Internet sellers have contacts and a feedback form, and 18% have only an e-mail address. "100% of e-sellers provide information on the delivery of goods, 90% - on the possibility of goods return and warranty service, 60% report all information about their products, and 40% - only part of the information," talking about the studies. - The presence of a Russian-language site showed only 32% of the sites studied. The guarantee document from the manufacturer promised 62.5%, from the store - 27.5% of respondents, and other options provided 10%. " The five leaders, the most law-abiding in the field of consumer protection, were unveiled at the round table, but the young researchers did not show the entire list, because they continue monitoring. Only reported that the first place in the rating was Was divided by the brands "Foxtrot" and "Comfy".
"We do not publish the entire list, because we plan to continue monitoring of Ukrainian Internet sellers from April 1 this year, after the entry into force of the law on sale with a fiscal check of technically complex equipment for guarantees," said Marina Bondarchuk, an activist of the Youth for the Rights of Consumers ". - We, after making a control purchase, will check these online stores for compliance with the law on the sale of complex equipment with the RFB, as well as compliance with the rules of law when returning goods. The round table was attended by Valentin Bezruky, President of the Research Center for Independent Consumer Expertise Test, the representative of the European Business Association, Evgeny Veremychenko, coordinator of the e-commerce EVA Committee, Irina Lomeiko, lawyer of the law firm Dega Partners, who works with Mile LLC In Ukraine and produces German household appliances.
