"Foxtrot is a bravery business that changes the country" – experts of the Center for CSR Development
April 20 – CSR Ukraine, an expert organization of the Center for CSR Development, held the annual conference "Courageous Business Changing the Country" and awarded companies for implementing the best practices in corporate social responsibility in 2022
Companies that took part in the event: Foxtrot, Bayer Ukraine, Farmak, Kyivstar, Metinvest Group, Metro Ukraine, Sigma Software, and many others.
The corporate social responsibility case study competition was attended by 20 Ukrainian companies, which submitted their 30 cases in the problem-solution-result format. The cases were evaluated by international experts based on four main criteria: innovation, dialogue with stakeholders, long-term results of the project for the company and society, and the format of the case description.
The awards were presented as part of a CSR case study competition dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals and the contribution of Ukrainian business to their achievement.
Foxtrot Group received the award for the corporate case "Year of War. Partnership for Ukraine's Independence and Business Strengthening", which corresponds to "Goal 17. Strengthening the means of implementation of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development and enhancing its activities". The GCF case study describes how synergy with government and commercial partners has become a tool in the fight for Ukraine's independence and business survival.
In 2022, Foxtrot's team processed more than 900 requests for assistance from the Ukrainian Defense Forces, volunteers and NGOs and provided equipment worth UAH 14 million. In September 2022, Foxtrot began patronizing the military units of the Ukrainian Air Force, which are developing Ukraine's air defense system. Foxtrot donated 205 pieces of equipment worth almost UAH 1.5 million to the air defense forces. During the war for Ukraine's independence, the pool of social partners expanded from 30 (at the beginning of 2022) to 196 partners (as of February 2023). And the retailer itself was included in the rating of companies that have pushed back from the bottom during the war and demonstrated the effectiveness of management decisions (according to Forbes Ukraine).
"Each of you is a fighter who brings Ukraine's victory in this war closer by feeding the Ukrainian economy and helping the defense forces," Gennadiiy Vykhodtsev, Chairman of the Board of Founders of Foxtrot Group, and Valeriiy Makovetsky, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Foxtrot, summarized the work of the business in 2022-2023.
"We have a bright future ahead of us – both for Ukraine and for the entire Ukrainian business," says Oleksiiy Zozulya, CEO of Foxtrot.
It is symbolic that Foxtrot's diploma bears the words of Sophia, a child from Kharkiv who found shelter in the SOS Children's Villages social institution, which Foxtrot Group has been supporting since 2010: "Hi, I want to become a blogger. I will talk about different cities of Ukraine. Ukraine will be with the Crimea, it will be independent and gorgeous," dreams little Sofia from Kharkiv.
This is not the first time Foxtrot has been recognized by the CSR Development Center:
- In 2012, the business case "Safety School: Comfortable where it is safe!" was recognized as the best in the strategic nomination "Customer Relations.
- 2015 Foxtrot's "ECOCLASS" was recognized as the best environmental case in the 2015 CSR competition.
- 2019 Foxtrot Group of Companies was awarded for the case "DalECO-conscious people work here".
- 2021 award for the case "Everyone has a furry friend: how Foxtrot helps to reduce the number of stray animals".
