Foxtrot presented a case study on inclusive trade practices at the Consumer Assembly of Ukraine Forum
On March 13, 2025, Foxtrot Trade Marketing Manager Lesya Nikulina participated in the Consumer Assembly Forum “Consumers of Ukraine: Resilience to Today’s Challenges”
On the eve of Consumer Rights Protection Day, participants discussed at the State University of Trade and Economics constructive approaches to the effective implementation of consumer policy in Ukraine in wartime conditions based on maintaining a balance of interests between civil society, the state, and business in accordance with international approaches.
– Our reliable and very progressive partners, close to the university in their European orientation in working values and tools, are Foxtrot, – warmly presented the company’s speaker Natali Prytulska, Vice-Rector of DTEU. – They are proactive in examining detinization processes in Ukrainian retail, they are a model of white business. Together with our university, they organized the harmonization of international approaches to electronics labeling, the first in retail to develop a professional standard. The first and best in everything, therefore, they are the first in retail to focus on barrier-free.
Lesya Nikulina presented the participants with a practical case study “Barrier-free is an integral part of modern Foxtrot”, telling why the business focuses on barrier-free approaches in trade. The Assembly participants learned about the areas of activity of retail establishments aimed at ensuring barrier-free retail space.
“83% of survey respondents at the beginning of 2024 recognized that barrier-free is a new value,” – Lesya Nikulina cited statistics. – For Foxtrot, it means working with people and for people. Therefore, the social project "Barrier-Free Foxtrot" is an in-house development of our company and a consequence of the socially effective and responsible policy of the company, where I have been working for more than 15 years. The first results of the project are the implementation of a service for deaf people using an online sign language interpreter in 30 stores of the chain and on the foxtrot.ua website, the implementation of a business solution to build a barrier-free retail space in stores for convenient service for people who move around using a wheelchair, cane or crutches, and people who use hearing aids. In parallel, we conduct educational work. We have introduced the principles of correct employee communication, including the "Barrier-Free Handbook" and the information course "The Path of Ukrainian Veterans" on the internal training platform.
The Forum was attended by about 300 participants, including representatives of public organizations (All-Ukrainian Federation of Consumers “PULSE”, “Consumer Trust”, “Protection of Consumer Rights of Medicines”, Center of the Romad Representative Office “Life”, Ukrainian Society of Commodity Experts and Technologists, All-Ukrainian Association of Insurance Services Consumers “Insurance Protection”). Reports were also made by representatives of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, the Governing Board of the National Standardization Body, state bodies (Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, Expert Council under the Representative of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights on Social and Economic Rights, etc.). Representatives of the business sector at the Assembly were representatives of the trade and pharmaceutical chains “Foxtrot”, “ECO MARKET”, the club of shopping centers “Molls Club”, “PODOROZHNYK”, “Bazhaemo Zdorovye”, “Dobrogo dnia”, “S.A.F. Pharma”, etc.
– I urge all representatives of retail businesses to follow the experience of creating a barrier-free space. This is the new norm of our lives. For which we all must be ready, – Lesya Nikulina concluded the presentation.
