Announced the results of the rating "Environmentally responsible chain of home appliances and electronics in Ukraine"
Published the results of the first in Ukraine caratinga environmentally-responsible household appliances and electronics. The rating was initiated by the participants of all-Ukrainian movement " Youth for human rights of consumers" and the activists of the environmental club in the framework of the VII consumersare festival "the Time to act!".
The Study was conducted by surveying retail chains of home electronics. Employee survey famous stores held student activists of the Ukrainian movement " Youth for human rights of consumers". Volunteers from'asavali performance of environmentally-responsible practices of Ukrainian retailers (retail chains "Foxtrot", "Eldorado", Comfy, City.com, Moyo and DiaWest).
During the month, the volunteers visited the shops of the retailers researched their ECO-policies, based on the availability of eco-labeling of goods and copacobana, the existence of social report on the company's website, analysis of the amount of use of paper advertisements and transition networks to the ICE-coverage. The volunteers of the movement'asavali the presence of biodegradable bags in the trading range of retailers, the ability to receive on battery disposal and networking with public opinion. Among the 20 criteria maximum weight had active popularization of Ecolo implementation “green” program in the communities, in the media and with opinion leaders and stakeholders. Indeed, compatriots are aware of the problem a little: according to the latest tegenname * only 3% of Ukrainians are concerned about pollution - and this despite the fact that in 2007, the international experts of the OSCE called on the state of environment in Ukraine is critical **.
Among the objectives of the study were: to check if eco-labeling of goods and environmental packaging, compilation of experiences in the network with respect to accounting for ecocritics in procurement, the formation of the range, a determination of a corporate initiative called "Green building", the Analysis of volumes of paper-based advertising and openness of the management of the enterprise for dialogue about the environmental standards of the organization of customer service.
The results of the analysis indicate that:
- three networks, that is, 25% use energy-efficient lighting tools, and the remaining 75% are using fluorescent lights, fluorescent or incandescent.
- All studied trade network turn off computers when they are not needed.
- 50% off lighting in the hall and under the illumination of signs after closing.
- In half of the investigated networks are not used by Windows to control the temperature, which indicates the efficient operation of the heating system.
- Only one third of the studied retail chains printed products printed on recycled and certified paper, and 87 % of networks have entered the real cost of paper, printing on both sides of a sheet, which indicates the responsible for the din forest resources.
- it Should be noted that only half of trading networks delivers waste paper for recycling.
- 50% collect and transmit to the disposal of used batteries and other batteries.
- In more than half of the studied networks, we have the opportunity to take energy-saving lamps for recycling.
- 62% of stores had information to consumers about networks involved in projects calling for economic use of resources and responsible attitude to nature, and 50 % engaged in environmental advocacy.
- 63% of the surveyed trade networks that use the eco-labeling of products and packaging materials ("Foxtrot", "Eldorado", Comfy, City.com, Moyo).
- "Foxtrot" and Comfy sells eco-bags or eco-bags instead of plastic.
The Winner rating distribution network, which works to minimise the impact on the environment not only within the walls of their offices and shops, but also outside of them. "Foxtrot" does it regularly attracts leading experts, their partners, customers, focuses on working with young people - all grasps in his “green” activity, " says Anna Zakharevich, head of Ecoclub KNTEU.
