“Business without barriers”. It is about Foxtrot

In October, 11 Ukrainian and international businesses joined the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine, Elena Zelenskaya. Among them is a chain of stores of household supplies and electronics Foxtrot. It has shown its willingness to continue to implement the principles of barrier-free business

“Business Without Barriers” community was created at the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine, Elena Zelenskaya, to unite businesses that share the values of life and work without limits. Similar values were declared by the Foxtrot brand, as well as by Visa, the Fairmont Grand Hotel Kyiv and Riviera House, PrivatBank, First Ukrainian International Bank (FUIB), McDonald's in Ukraine, IT-company EPAM Ukraine, Coca-Cola Ukraine, Yakaboo book platform, law firm "Asters", supermarket chain "Silpo".

Representatives of companies participating in this initiative, during a meeting with Elena Zelenskaya, told how they are introducing changes of creating equal opportunities in their sectors of the economy with access to work, to services, even for people with disabilities, for parents with children under six years old, elderly people, women, and youth.

– Foxtrot is people-oriented. This business was created by people for people. Therefore, respect for the principles of barrier-free is important and fully coincides with the values of the brand, – said Oleksiy Zozulya, executive director of the Foxtrot brand during a meeting of the initiative participants. – Foxtrot has several positions that allow people with special needs to work. For example, a call center operator, cashier, office specialist.

The company opens new stores with children's corners, assembles a wide entrance area and creates space in sales areas so that people in wheelchairs and parents with small children have no problems moving around. The next step is to implement updated standards for serving customers with special needs. Foxtrot will include the “Handbook without barriers”, an electronic version of which was presented in September as part of the Business Without Barriers initiative and implemented into the adaptation program for Foxtrot employees. “Handbook without barriers” is a guide dedicated to the correct communication with people with special needs.

In addition, Oleksiy Zozulya highlighted the importance of attracting young professionals to the company. Today, 59% of employees here are young people, and for 35% of the staff of retail specialists this is their first job and an opportunity to acquire professional skills.

Much attention is paid to the safety of visitors and store personnel during the period of quarantine restrictions. Before complying with generally accepted sanitary rules, the Foxtrot network launched:
  • several options of a contactless form of payment both at the point of sale and for the courier;
  • all possible types of safe delivery of goods: express delivery in 2 hours every day until a certain time, up to 7000 parcel terminals of Nova poshta, etc.;
  • online shopping support in the web-store foxtrot.ua, operating 24/7.
